Compare the Eaglehawk to the alternatives….

Exploring possible options for your wedding? Thinking of a licensed wedding reception venue or maybe a Marquee? We’ve provided some comparisons of these options to hosting your wedding at The Eaglehawk. These comparisons are not an exhaustive list and don’t include all costs such as photography, dress, invitations etc but it will hopefully give you an idea of the price differences and some other considerations to take into account.

The Eaglehawk vs Marquee Wedding

Considering a Marquee wedding? Here’s a comparison for a 100 guest wedding at The Eaglehawk and a Marquee. When planning a Marquee wedding be sure to allow for many extras which will not be included in the base price. At The Eaglehawk, we have one price. There are no optional or mandatory extra costs and you get two full days to enjoy your celebration. This allows you to relax before the big day and have a family and bridal party get together the day after, all included in the price.

The advantage of both The Eaglehawk or a Marquee wedding is that you can do things your way. Put your own style and touch on the day and select your own caterer for the style of food and wedding that you want. Big savings can be realised with a BYO Bar and what you (and your guests) don’t drink - you take with you at the end.

There are many options available for Marquee styles and decoration and we’ve selected the average cost. The significant aspects to consider are:

  • Setup and pack up effort and time. Even though the erection and pack up of the marquee itself are done by the hire firm - you still need to coordinate and manage this. You will spend a full day with the erection and setup of the marquee and another day for the bump out after the big day. In comparison, The Eaglehawk

  • Dealing with multiple vendors. You may / will need to hire from multiple vendors to get everything you need. This is a significant effort to manage on top of everything else.

  • Forgetting something. Not just the major items but there’s a thousand smaller things to consider. How do you clean hundreds of glasses? Who supplies the tea towels? You’ll always miss or forget something, but when you miss too many, real problems arise.

  • Hidden costs. Or optional costs that you realise you need - like air conditioning for the marquee as it’s going to be a 30 degree day, extra lighting, council permits etc.

The Eaglehawk vs Reception venue / restaurant Wedding

A Reception venue celebration is usually 5 hours with possible extensions of 1 or 2 hours. At The Eaglehawk, the celebration is totally up to you. Rather than just one 5 hour celebration, you can host multiple get togethers and celebrations at The Eaglehawk. A family get together on the day prior and a relaxed wood fired pizza oven lunch with the bridal party and family the day after. It’s all included in the price.
